Mary Brown’s Chicken & Taters is a well-known and well-loved brand in Canada. In fact, Mary Brown’s has a 50-year history of success and thousands of fans across the country. Now, after five decades of perfecting their methodologies, amazing menu and approach to Guest service, Mary Brown’s is proud to launch internationally.
The Middle East is one of Mary Brown’s first choices for international expansion. Following careful analysis of population density, growth projections, demographics, competition, economics and ease of assimilation – the Middle East shows excellent potential for this iconic Canadian brand.
How well is Mary Brown’s performing?
Mary Brown’s was founded in Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada in 1969. The province is renowned for hospitality and commitment to community. That same spirit is infused into Mary Brown’s stores coast-to-coast across the vast Canadian landscape – and will carry through globally. At the heart of Mary Brown’s is owner, Gregory Roberts, a Newfoundland-born entrepreneur who bought the brand in 2007 and has since elevated it to the highest international standards.
Commitment to Franchisees
Mary Brown’s 50-year history as a Canadian franchise is matched only by its commitment to its Franchisees. Mary Brown’s has won the Canadian Franchise Association’s Franchisees’ Choice Award 9 years in a row. That’s an honour only a handful of franchises can claim. Hadi Chahin, President & COO, credits Mary Brown’s Franchise Owner/Operators with the brand’s longevity. He says, “They are at the heart of our brand and bring the brand to life in communities across Canada – and going forward – across the globe.”
Mary Brown’s has developed stringent standards in every facet of operations – cooking, cleanliness, service, product taste/appearance/presentation, store appearance – and beyond. Each store is frequently assessed and graded for adherence to standards by internal and independent parties. All Franchisees are required to complete a rigorous training program which encompasses all aspects of running a successful business.
Looking to the Future
Mary Brown’s Chicken & Taters is celebrating 50 years in 2019. An epic Anniversary Party is planned in the brand’s hometown, St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador, with attendance expected by corporate employees, Franchisees, celebrities and dignitaries. It’s an exciting time for the brand – notably one of the fastest-growing in Canada.
What will the next 50 years bring? “More growth and more innovation for sure,” Chahin says, “but we won’t lose sight of what makes Mary Brown’s special. A delicious handcrafted menu and genuine hospitality are who we are – and always will be.”
